Scholarships
Washington Workshop Seminar Scholarship
The Oregon Society offers a full scholarship (tuition, room and board, airfare and miscellaneous) for a high School student to attend the Washington Workshop Seminar in June of each year.
Highlights:
- Seven days in our Nation’s Capital
- Guest Speakers in the Legislative, Federal Government and The Media
- Meet US Senators and Representatives in the House and attend Committee Hearings on Capitol Hill
- Enjoy Washington’s top Historical and Educational exhibits: Mount Vernon, The Smithsonian Museums, and the famous Memorials and Monuments of Washington, D.C.
- Experience a preview of College Life by living on a College Campus
- Learn about future academic and career opportunities
- Work in Model Committees with fellow attendees and debate you bill in the Model Congress
- Make lasting friendships with new friends from across the United States

Grants to Teachers 2014
Our Society is offering two grants of up to $1,000 each to middle and high school teachers of American History or Civics in the state of Oregon to enrich classroom teaching. Proposals should be in one of the following:
- Continuing education related to American history
- Curriculum development
- Travel and tuition to attend educational seminars related to American history or an enrichment project or program
