Through preservation, education, and service to inspire a shared love of country, we see into the past and encourage others to understand our nation’s history.

Preservation of Historic Properties

The NSCDA actively participates in preserving and operating more than 80 historical sites or collections in the United States. Forty-one of those properties are owned outright by the Corporate Societies of the NSCDA and 13 more include museum collections owned by the Dames. NSCDA members provide substantial volunteer and financial support to 30 more properties. These diverse historic houses, museums, and collections encompass America’s history from the 17th century until the early 20th century.

Grants & Scholarships

Honoring our national history is deeply rooted in our mission, and fostering a future that celebrates this history is equally important. Our grants and scholarships empower new generations of students and professionals to live by the ideals of patriotism and hope.

Service to the Military

Our commitment to the armed forces is unwavering. Active-duty members and veterans make tremendous sacrifices to protect our nation and freedoms. At the NSCDA, we honor these heroes by participating in programs that provide support and share their stories.

We support our military by providing assistance to troops abroad and families and veterans at home.
